44th Summer Film School has been officially opened. Festival director Radana Korená thanked to the whole organizing team and festival partners and wished the audience a wonderful time.
The opening ceremony featured welcoming talks by programming director Iva Hejlíčková and innogy’s representative Luboš Falhaurr. Stanislav Blaha, a mayor of Uherské Hradiště, confirmed that the town and ACFC have entered into a new collaboration agreement for the next ten years.
Later that evening, Bahman Ghobadi was awarded the ACFC Annual Prize for his documentary and feature-length films. “It is a pleasure for me to be here. It’s my first time in the Czech Republic. Your audience is awesome and the people in your organizing team just smile all the time. It is a great place to recharge myself. I haven’t been anywhere for five years but now my friend Mehdi Abdollahzadeh persuaded me to go. I love you, guys!” said the filmmaker.
