Michel Marie, Professor Emeritus at the Sorbonne Nouvelle – Paris 3 University, will be the main guest of Film Reader: French New Wave.
Marie lectured at the Sorbonne Nouvelle from 1972 to 2011. His main focus was on film aesthetics and theory, film analysis and the history of French cinema. He is an author of the first comprehensive study on the French New Wave “The French New Wave: An Artistic School” and several books about Jean-Luc Godard’s work. He has been a commissioning editor of the Cinema and Visual Arts collection at Armand Colin since 1988. He will be staying at the SFS from 7/27 to 7/31.
