The Icon: Michael Haneke

This section was initiated last year. It concentrates on important contemporary filmmakers and development of their careers. Our fundamental question thus reads as follows: “How did Haneke become Haneke?” This year’s edition will be curated by Austrian film publicist and Catholic priest Alfred Jokesch and will present Haneke’s lesser-known works and some key elements of his idiomatic style.
