He introduced his feature debut How I Spent the End of the World and his short student film Bucharest-Vienna, 8-15. “This movie was screened in Cannes in 2001. That year, Martin Scorsese chaired the jury for short films. We stayed in touch and he helped me to get the money for my feature debut,” said the director.
The famous name was a plus, the film was made shortly after the Romanian cinema’s breakdown, which was brought back to life due to the new generation of filmmakers, New Romanian Wave.
